Countdown to Spring

Punxsutawney Phil, the lovable groundhog who peeks out each February 2nd to see—or not see—his shadow, predicted six more weeks of winter this year. While Phil may be an unreliable weather forecaster, we’re still counting the days until spring, and in the meantime, we’ve gathered some our favorite late-winter things to see and do in Tualatin Valley.

Grab a Pint

Beer in Tualatin Valley is a big deal. With two dozen breweries in the valley alone, it’s a part of the vast Portland region beer lovers call a “Beervana.” Portland is one of the top cities for craft breweries, and Tualatin Valley’s proximity to this famous beer city has its perks. IPAs rule here, but stouts and porters (even better when infused with locally roasted coffee), ambers, reds and pilsners and wheats are easy to find at these local craft breweries. Venture out on the Tualatin Valley Ale Trail with our new handy (and free) mobile passport. Explore the 17 breweries on the passport for special discounts and earn points for prizes.

Relax During Cellar Season

It’s “cellar season” in Oregon wine country, a time when the wines that were harvested months ago are resting in barrels and before the bottling season begins. This is a perfect time to visit Tualatin Valley’s 30+ estate wineries. Enjoy a favorite variety or discover something new, or simply enjoy a glass of Pinot Noir or a “winter” white wine by a fire.

Choose an Indoor Adventure

The weather in March can be unpredictable, so when the forecast calls for rain, adventurers can head indoors to these premier attractions in Tualatin Valley.

Embrace the freedom of flying at iFly Indoor Skydiving, an unparalleled free-falling experience in a cushion of air generated by a vertical wind tunnel. Cozy into a heated putting bay at Topgolf Hillsboro, the premier, state-of-the-art golf and entertainment complex. Or check out K1 Speed, an all-electric go-kart experience featuring museum-quality motorsport memorabilia, Storm and junior go-karts imported directly from Italy and an 11-turn road-course inspired track.

As you countdown to spring, plan to pack your bags and spend some time with us this season. Experience the warm welcome of the Tualatin Valley, our Oregon.
