February-November

From February through November, Tualatin Valley’s farmers markets are teeming with fruit, vegetables, plants, and so much more, all collected from the farms and fields of the region. Explore the many tastes of the region, from the berries of the summer months, to the stone fruits of late-summer and tasty apples of the fall. During the height of the summer produce season, it’s easy to find a farmers market nearly every day of the week. Markets are limited in the autumn and winter months. June-August

The fresh, relaxing scent of lavender fills the Tualatin Valley air during the warm summer months. Open June-August, tour the lavender farms that dot the bucolic farmland throughout the region, and take home a bundle of freshly cut lavender, dried and culinary lavender, soaps and bath products, and much more. August is sunflower season, and local farms, such as Lee Farms, celebrates the season all month long with its annual Sunflower Festival.

June-November

Tualatin Valley is rich with u-pick farms, and each month brings new agricultural surprises for travelers. The early and mid-summer months bring berries galore, while mid- to late-summer is ripe for peaches and pears. Late August starts apple season when dozens of varieties of apples are ready to be tasted.

October

October is harvest time in Tualatin Valley, and pumpkin patches and corn mazes are open for a month of harvest fun. Year-Round

The Tualatin Valley is home to dozens of livestock farms. Dairy cows, horses, alpaca, bison and sheep are just some of the farm animals you can encounter during a scenic drive through the valley. A drive through the scenic agricultural areas of this part of Oregon will give you a great show of cows, horses, sheep and more, but those furry long-necked guys you see out there aren’t llamas — they’re alpacas! Visit an alpaca farm to see these cute animals up close.
