Tasting and tour of SakéOne

SakéOne, the first American owned and operated brewer of craft saké in the world, bottles under four distinct brands (Momokawa, Moonstone, G, and Peaceful River), and leads the fast-growing category with distinct styles, flavor infusions and a penchant for education and sharing their unique beverage. A visit to the SakéOne Kura (brewery) is an educational experience at all levels. 

Dinner at Bites Restaurant 

Dine at Bites in Forest Grove. The East-meets-West fusion restaurant has fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Most dishes are under $10, so you can enjoy a tapas-style meal.

Overnight at McMenamins Grand Lodge

Recharge in one of the hotels newly renovated hotel rooms, and you’ll soon be on the mend in Doctor’s Office Bar, where pool tables beckon. Choose from distillery flights or signature cocktails, or unwind with inventive beers and wines crafted from the very grapes and hops that characterize the Cascade region. And don’t forget the happy hour from 10 p.m. to midnight. Late night revelers may meet the Lavender Lady, whose spirit is said to dance through the halls here. Spirits and historic figures are commemorated with fanciful art and local photographs.

Wine Tasting at Hawks View Cellars

Hawks View creates award-winning wines sourced from its estate, as well as from the best-known vineyards on the West Coast. Just 30 minutes from Portland, Hawks View features stylish tasting room, comfortable picnic grounds, and stunning mountain views. Planted in 1991, the 50-acre Hawks View Vineyard offers ideal growing conditions for Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. The state-of-the-art winery provides winemaker Don Crank with the perfect space to masterfully create exceptional Hawks View wine. The winery recently was purchased by a Temecula, California winery, Ponte Winery.

Chef Paul Decarli’s culinary style draws on his Swiss-Italian-American roots, with menu items such as pizzettas, linguini and oysters.
